How to opt out in AI training: Facebook / Meta

Facebook / Meta

On the Facebook platform, individuals have the opportunity to complete a form known as "Generative AI Data Subject Rights." This form allows Meta users to access, download, rectify, or erase any of their personal data that could be utilized for generative AI purposes.

Users also have the option to limit the processing of their personal data for AI model training. Within the form, users are required to provide their first name, last name, place of residence, and email address.

  1. Go to the following webpage:
  2. Click these buttons:
    • I want to delete any personal information from third parties used for training Meta’s generative AI models
    • I want to object to or restrict the processing of my personal information from third parties used for training Meta’s generative AI models
  3. A form should appear, fill that out with the correct information and then hit the submit button.
  4. In 60-90 days from submitting this form, your information will be opted-out from the data set and AI training models.

You can also use redact to protect your account and your data by programmatically deleting all content that you have generated on the platform. Doing this ensures that these models never use your information, (you can set custom deletion schedules for your content) in training these data sets.
